Akutan City, Alaska is a city of the Aleutians East Borough, Alaska, United States. In 2000, city's population was 713 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 871, giving it the 76th largest population among Alaska. The city spans an area of 18.88 square miles (48.9 kmē), of which, 14.03 square miles (36.34 kmē) of it is land and 4.85 square miles (12.56 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 197th largest by total area among Alaska.
