Akron Borough is one of the borough of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, located towards the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, borough's population was 4046 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 4017, It is Pennsylvania's 355th largest by population . The borough comprises an area of 1.26 square miles (3.26 kmē), it is the 608th largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

In the borough the population is diverse age-wise, with 21.7% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 19.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 89.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.3 males. The median age was 41 years, the median age of male residents at 39.6 and the median age of female residents at 42.2. The racial makeup of the borough was 3901 White, 22 Black or African American, 9 American Indian, 56 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 26 from two or more races and 32 Ohter races.
