Akiak City is a city located in Bethel Census Area, Alaska, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 309 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 309, It is 150th most populous in Alaska. The city comprises an area of 3.06 mi˛ (7.93 square kilometre), of which, 1.97 square miles (5.1 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.09 square miles (2.82 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 40th smallest by total area in Alaska.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 309 people, 69 households, and 54 families residing in the city. The population density was 157.2 people per square mile (60.7/km˛), it is Alaska's 45th most densely populated city. There were 76 housing units at an average density of 38.6 per square mile (14.9/km˛). It has an average household size was 4.48 persons, and the average family size was 5.24 persons. In the city the population is diverse age-wise, with 43.4% under the age of 18, 11.3% from 18 to 24, 23.9% from 25 to 44, 14.6% from 45 to 64, and 6.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 122.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 105.9 males. The median age of the city's population was 21.3 years, The median age of males and females living in Akiak City was 20.2 and 24.8 years respectively. The racial makeup of the city was 4.85% White, 0% Black or African American, 92.88% American Indian, 0% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 2.27% from two or more races and 0% Other races.
