Adel City is a city in the Dallas County, Iowa, United States. As of 2000 the population was 3435. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 4428, It is the 101st largest in terms of population. The city comprises an area of 3.28 square miles (8.5 square kilometre), of which, 3.27 square miles (8.47 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Iowa's 114th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3435 people, 1369 households, and 898 families living in the city. The population density was 1050.1 people per square mile (405.45/kmē), it is the 306th most populated city in terms of population density.
