Adams County, Wisconsin is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The county has a population of 18643 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 20325, It is the 22nd least populous county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is spread over 688.51 square miles (1783.23 sq km), of which, 647.74 square miles (1677.64 sq km ) of it is land and 40.78 square miles (105.62 sq km) of it is water, making it the 22nd smallest by size in Wisconsin.

The population density was 28.8 people per square mile (11.12/kmē), it is Wisconsin's 19th least densely populated county. There were 14123 housing units at an average density of 21.8 per square mile (8.42/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.33 persons, and the average family size was 2.76 persons. In the county Age distribution was 20.8% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 28.4% from 45 to 64, and 20.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 97.2 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 98.8 females. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 20325, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 94.24% White, 2.95% Black or African American, 1.41% American Indian, 0.37% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 1.01% from two or more races.
