Adams County is a county located in the United States of Washington. The population of county in 2000 stood at 16428 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 17285, giving it the ninth smallest population among Washington's county. Its area is just over 1929.69 sq mi (4997.87 kmē), of which, 1924.96 square miles (4985.62 kmē) of it is land and 4.73 square miles (12.25 kmē) of it is water, it is the 17th largest by area in the U.S. state of Washington.

The population density was 8.5 people per square mile (3.28/kmē), it is eighth least densely populated county in Washington. There were 5773 housing units at an average density of 3 per square mile (1.16/kmē). The average household size was 3.09 and the average family size was 3.52. In the county the population was spread out, with 34.2% under the age of 18, 9.8% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 19.4% from 45 to 64, and 10.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 95.7 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 97.9 females. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 17285, The racial makeup of the county was 93.97% White, 1.01% Black or African American, 2.33% American Indian, 1.37% Asian, 0.16% Native Hawaiian, and 1.15% from two or more races.
