Adams County, Mississippi is a county of the United States of Mississippi. It is home to over 34340 people (2000 census). The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 31307, It is the 27th largest in terms of population. Its area is just over 486.25 mi˛ (1259.38 sq km), of which, 460.26 square miles (1192.07 sq km) of it is land and 25.99 square miles (67.31 sq km) of it is water, it is the 55th largest by area in the U.S. state of Mississippi.


As of the census of 2000, there were 34340 people, 13677 households, and 9403 families living in the county. The population density was 74.6 people per square mile (28.8/km˛), it is the 19th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Mississippi. There were 15175 housing units at an average density of 33 per square mile (12.74/km˛). The average household size was 2.48 people, and the average family size was 3.03 people. In the Adams County, 26.8% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.6% were 18 to 24, 25.6% were 25 to 44, 23.5% were 45 to 64, and 15.6% who were 65 or older.
