Adams County is a county located in the United States of Indiana. In 2000, the population was 33625. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 33985, giving it the 46th largest population among Indiana's county. The county has a total area of 339.93 miē (880.41 kmē), of which, 339.36 square miles (878.94 kmē) of it is land and 0.57 square miles (1.48 kmē) of it is water, it is the 20th smallest in terms of geographical size.

In the county the population was spread out, with 31.1% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 20.1% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.8 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 33985, The racial makeup of the county was 98.58% White, 0.38% Black or African American, 0.2% American Indian, 0.22% Asian, 0.05% Native Hawaiian, and 0.58% from two or more races.
