Adair County is a one of the county from Kentucky's 120 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 17244 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 17773, It is 62nd most populous county in Kentucky. The county encompasses an area of 412.23 sq mi (1067.67 sq km ), of which, 406.84 square miles (1053.71 sq km) of it is land and 5.39 square miles (13.96 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 31st largest by total area in Kentucky.
