Ackley City is a one of the Hardin and Franklin counties, Iowa, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. Ackley City had an official population of 1809 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 1665, It is 171st most populous in Iowa. It is spread over 2.48 square miles (6.42 square kilometre), of which, 2.45 square miles (6.35 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 147th largest by total area among Iowa.
