Acadia Parish is a United States parish located in the United States of Louisiana. In 2000, the population was 58861. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 60070, It is the 18th largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 657.62 sq mi (1703.23 square kilometre), of which, 655.28 square miles (1697.17 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.33 square miles (6.03 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 37th largest by total area in Louisiana.

In the parish the population was spread out, with 29.8% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 106.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 112.6 females. In July 2008, its estimated population was 60070, The racial or ethnic makeup of the parish was 79.96% White, 18.91% Black or African American, 0.22% American Indian, 0.25% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 0.66% from two or more races.
