Absecon City is a one of the Atlantic County, New Jersey, located in Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. The city has a population of 7638 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 8389, It is New Jersey's 214th largest by population . The city spans an area of 6.93 sq mi (17.95 square kilometre), of which, 5.72 square miles (14.81 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.21 square miles (3.13 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 69th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7638 people, 457 households, and 284 families living in the city. The median age is 40.3 years, the median age of male residents at 39.1 and the median age of female residents at 41.3. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 6363 White, 459 Black or African American, 13 American Indian, 570 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 118 from two or more races and 115 Ohter races.
