Abbeville City is a city located in the Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, United States. As of 2000 the population was 11887. The July 2008 population estimate is 12103, It is 39th most populous in Louisiana. The city spans an area of 5.68 miē (14.71 kmē), of which, 5.65 square miles (14.63 kmē) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 109th largest by total area in Louisiana.
